MBA Director Duties
In an image that would command respect and foster good will, a Director of the Madison USBC Bowling Association must willingly and actively represent the ideas of the local association and the United States Bowling Congress as the rules-making and governing bodies in the certified game of American Tenpins.
Duly-elected Directors are expected to work with the officers and fellow directors in the implementation of the association's objectives. In so doing he/she is expected to:
- Attend the association Annual Membership Meeting and assist in its organization and conduct.
- Attend all regular meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Attend meetings of assigned committees and actively participate in any and all activities as assigned by the association president.
- Accept additional occasional assignments which may include:
- The preparation and distribution of league supplies.
- Instructional workshops.
- Fact-finding and/or problem-solving visits to leagues or bowling centers.
- Goodwill visits to leagues and centers for, as an example, the ceremonial presentation of special USBC or local association awards.
- Assist in promoting and conducting the events of the annual association championship tournament.
- Assist in the conduct of the Annual Hall of Fame Induction and Bowler Recognition Dinner.
Directors will be evaluated on an annual basis. At the conclusion of each director's term of office he/she will be asked to express his/her decision to either seek re-election or to relinquish the position. The ultimate decision on whether a Director is re-nominated will be based on the recommendations of the association's Nominating Committee.
Candidates are reminded that a generally positive and cooperative attitude and a willingness to freely volunteer for additional duties or assignments will factor significantly in the evaluation process.
