MBA Strike Back Against Cancer
Bowl for the Cure® is a year-round fund-raising and breast cancer awareness initiative sponsored by the United States Bowling Congress in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, a foundation that has raised over $1 billion as the world's largest grassroots organization of breast cancer survivors and activists.
The Madison USBC Bowling Association is proud to join in the effort and will conduct the inaugural "Strike Back Against Cancer" event on February 27, 2010 at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes, Madison, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Our goal is to fill the 40 lane host center with 40 teams and up to 200 bowlers. If necessary, we will run a second shift - possibly attracting up to 400 participants.
We hope that you will join our effort with your support and perhaps sponsor a team to participate in the event as well.

Nationally, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer. Nearly 75 percent of women over 40 now receive regular mammograms, the single most effective tool for detecting breast cancer. In 1982, less than 30 percent received a clinical exam. The five-year survival rate for breast cancer, when caught early is now 98 percent - compared to 74 percent in 1982. The federal government now devotes more than $900 million annually to breast cancer research, treatment and prevention. Dedication, generosity and research have literally saved lives, but the work is not finished.
All funds and donation raised will stay local. The funds and donations help provide education, screening, and treatments for women in our area.
If you have any questions regarding Bowl for the Cure®, please contact MBA Association Manager Bill Dennis. Thank you for helping put an end to breast cancer!
