His recognition for service to bowling comes primarily as a youth coach in DeForest for more than a decade. During his tenure the program was among the finest in the Madison area. All Rude's junior bowlers participated and succeeded in youth city tournaments. He also served for 23 years as secretary of the Major leagues at Dream Lanes and Casino Lanes.

An accomplished bowler, he authored one 300 game, two 299's, and won an MBA tournament team title in 1971. He had a high series of 773 and average of 211. He competed in 35 state and 40 MBA city tournaments.

A charter member of the Windsor-DeForest Baseball Hall of Fame, he was recognized for 30 years of coaching and supporting baseball in his community. The diamonds in Windsor are named in his honor. He also coached youth football and served on the volunteer fire department for many years.

Truly, the superlative Dick Kuchar exemplifies a Hall of Fame class of service.
