2007-08 City Tournament

The Madison USBC Bowling Association is pleased to announce the annual Association Championship Tournament and Senior Association Championship. This year, our hosts will be Spartan Bowl in McFarland (Team Event) and Wildcat Lanes in Verona (Minors and Seniors)

New Format and Changes

This year all divisions are handicapped at 100% to 230 - everyone has a chance to WIN. There will be handicapped brackets, optional scratch events, and ball raffles, too. If you have bowled in the past, check out these and other changes and give it a try again!

Spread the Word

We are actively trying to grow this tournament with these positive changes, and we need your help. Please spread the word to your fellow league members about the event - especially those that haven't bowled in a tournament before. It's a great tournament, made even better when more people participate.

Our tournament sponsors this year include our major sponsor, Stop-N-Go Convenience Stores. Also supporting the event are Capital City Coins & Jewelry, Pizza Pit of Dream Lanes, Rob Bailey's Pro Shop, and Schemm Bowling Inc. The MBA thanks our generous tournament sponsors.

We look forward to seeing you there. Look for an entry form at your center, or download a tournament entry form. Questions? Call the bowling office at 221.0300 or Association Manager Bill Dennis at 770.4328.

Updated Award Forms

This year, the MBA has processed nearly 4000 award applications. It is important that the applications be current and filled out completely and correctly. The latest award forms can be downloaded from the MBA website.

It is also important that award application be sent within the deadline - 20 days of when the score was bowled. Don't save your awards until the end of the year - they may not get processed in time, or worse yet - may be denied.

A couple of tips to help speed up the process:

  • Fill out the entire form.
  • New bowlers qualify for awards after 12 games.
  • Use last years average for returning bowlers until 12 games. Enter last years average on the sheet - not "Last Year", "Book Average", or "Entering".

A lot of work will be put into the awards process between now and the beginning of next season. Look for these changes, and feel free to offer your input, comments, suggestions, and ideas.
